Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame GRAND OPENING

IT'S HERE!!! After a long wait since closing at The Bay Downtown, the much-anticipated Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame opens Saturday, October 27, 2012 in its new location in the Sport for Life Centre, 145 Pacific Avenue.

Join us from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for FREE admission into the brand new Hall of Fame. The decade galleries of sport will walk you through time. You'll see artifacts and memories of Manitoba's rich sport history, like the AVCO Cup and Clara Hughes' bike from the '96 Olympics.

Many of Manitoba's sport heroes, from past and today, will be at the Grand Opening to visit and sign autographs throughout the day.

10:00 a.m. - Janine Hanson, 2012 Olympic Silver Medalist - Rowing
                - Amos Ramon, Winnipeg Goldeyes - 2012 American Association Champion
                - Susan Auch, Three Time Olympic Medalist - Speed Skating
12:00 p.m. - Joe Daley, Winnipeg Jets Goaltender
                - Sherman Greenfeld, World Champion Raquetball Player
1:00 p.m. - Ken Ploen, Winnipeg Blue Bomber
               - Willard Reaves, Winnipeg Blue Bomber and Ryan Reaves, St. Louis Blues
2:00 p.m. - Ab McDonald, First Winnipeg Jets Captain

We'll have games and activities for all ages, along with free popcorn and drinks. Come down and be the first to see the new Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame!

Parking is available in the Sport for Life Centre lot, but is very limited. Parking lots and meters are located on surrounding streets
